Simplify Living didnโ€™t start with investors and a business plan. It started with my mum.

She was on her dream trip through Europe when her bag was stolen. Passport, cards, cash โ€” gone. When she came home, I could tell something had changed. Travel no longer felt freeing. It felt risky.

I promised her Iโ€™d find a bag that could stop thieves. But everything I found missed the mark โ€” flimsy zippers, fake locks, and โ€œanti-theftโ€ claims that didnโ€™t hold up. So, I decided to build one myself.

Designing the Perfect Anti-Theft Bag

Once Iโ€™d made that promise, I couldnโ€™t let go. I spent hours reading forums and messaging travellers whoโ€™d had their valuables stolen, to find out how pickpockets operate.

Then I started contacting manufacturers. Most said it couldnโ€™t be done โ€” security features were too expensive, and travellers cared more about style. But I didnโ€™t want another pretty bag. I wanted one that worked.

From my Brisbane bedroom, I began sketching designs, testing features, and improving every detail until it finally felt right.

That first bag wasnโ€™t about building a business โ€” it was about protecting memories and giving my mum the confidence to travel again.
